Joining the Polk County Youth Mountain Bike Team offers local residents an incredible opportunity to be part of a vibrant and supportive community. As a member, you'll get to explore the beautiful trails of Polk County, improve your biking skills, and enjoy the thrill of outdoor adventures. Our team is dedicated to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, fostering teamwork, and building lasting friendships. Whether you're new to mountain biking or an experienced rider, you'll find a welcoming environment where you can grow, challenge yourself, and have fun. Not sure you're ready to join? We invite you to attend some demo practices. Fill out a waiver and join us any Tuesday or Thursday @ 3:30PM (during the season) at the Polk County Recreation Complex trailhead. For more information, please contact nicapolknc@gmail.com.

To join our team, student-athletes need to meet a few basic requirements that ensure safety, fairness, and a great team experience.
School and grade level: Be a Polk County resident in grades 5-12 (Polk County schools or homeschooled). If you're in a neighboring country not served by a NICA team, reach out - you're likely eligible to ride with us.
Code of conduct: Agree to a code of conduct which includes sportsmanship, respect, and safety rules.
Team practices: Attend practice (Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30-5:30pm). You will need transportation to/from practice (located at Polk County Recreation Complex).
Academics: Stay enrolled and in good standing with your school.
You do NOT have to:
Race competitively.
Be an experienced mountain biker.
